Our educators make thinking and learning visible by assessing, observing, and reflecting on your child’s behaviour within the environment. Because for children, learning and doing are intrinsically linked!
Our educators use your child’s motivation and interest to explore concepts and ideas. In this way, your child will practice important developmental skills, while developing a disposition for inquiry, and learning.
Intention & Purpose
Laugh & Learn ELCC’s educators are intentional and purposeful in their interactions with your child as they:

- Provide feedback that effectively extends thinking and learning
Through interactions, our educators will clarify, challenge, respond to, and expand onto your child’s thinking.
Through observations, our educators will “negotiate the selection of a rich variety of materials and resources to use, and co-construct your child’s inquiry”.
What our educators learn through observations of play help them understand your child’s social, personal, and physical needs.
Children interact and communicate both verbally and non-verbally while engaged with others. Because of this, we take care in who we choose to be a part of our team. At Laugh & Learn ELCC, all of our educators:
- Are required to provide a vulnerable sector criminal reference check before commencement of employment
- Provide a health assessment and updated immunization before commencement of employment
- Have a valid certification in standard first aid, including infant and child CPR
- Participate in ongoing staff training and development
